Now Accepting New Applications for Board Positions Print

Are you good with people and/or planning events, enthusiastic, and looking for a way to give back to SU? If you answered "yes" to these questions, then we want to speak to you! We have several new positions open for the GBSUAC Board including:

  • Secretary
  • Satellite Officers
  • Committee Chairpersons
  • Alumni Council
The club Secretary is a two-year term and will be responsible for traditional secretary duties including taking meeting minutes, creating event reports, documenting club procedures, and updating the club website.  Basic HTML skills are a plus, but not required.  The current secretary will be transitioning to the Treasurer position who will be leaving the Board at the end of his term in June.

Satellite Officers should be located outside of the immediate Boston area and are interested in planning, coordinating and completing events in these areas with the GBSUAC (for example: New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or even Cape Cod).  They will coordinate and work with the Board members and have the Board's support in the process.

Committee Chairpersons will be responsible for working with the Board and planning one specific type of event (ie. a Social Committee, Sporting Event Committee, Community Service Committee, Fundraising Committee, Membership Committee, or any other Committee that you would like to chair).

Alumni Council members should want to be involved with the Club from the outside by volunteering ideas and opinions as opposed to necessarily partaking in the event-planning processes.  We are hoping to create a council of older, wiser, family-oriented alumni to broaden our horizons.

Positions require that the individual be willing to attend board meetings, share ideas, and participate in club activities.

  1. What position are you applying for?
  2. Why do you want the position?
  3. How much time do you have to devote to the Club?
  4. What qualifies you for the position?
The Board will review all applications and a decision will be made by mid-Summer.
