Franco American Centre is off Elm Street 5 minutes from Exit 5 Lynn Pauley will exhibit her lush on site paintings at Manchester's Franco American Centre from March 19th to May 1, 2007. This is the first time these landscape paintings have been exhibited in the United States. Pauley first visited the village of Auvillar, France in 1995 with a group of Denver based painters and was sponsored by their local artist in residence program. She fell in love with the people and surrounding lanscape of one of France's'most beautiful villages'. In 1998 Pauley became a resident "Auvillarais' herself when she purchased a home in the center of town on the Rue de la Sauvetat. These 22 paintings reflect her ongoing love affair with the light and landscape of Auvillar, France. Lynn Pauley is a 1981 Syracuse University graduate who earned her BFA in Illustration, Cum Laude. She relocated to Manchester, New Hampshire this past May after living and working in New York City for 17 years as an artist and an illustrator. She is the newly appointed Chair of the Illustration Department at New Hampshire Institute of Art. Her artwork has appeared in an impressive list of National publications such as The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Yankee and The New Yorker to list a few.
