for the Big East Tournament and NCAA tournament men's basketball games!
All games will be broadcast! (The Orange takes on UConn, Wed 3/7 at 2pm!)

Newsletter – February 2006
 | Happy New Year, SU alumni! To kick off 2007, we have quite a few events planned and it’s time again for our annual GBSUAC Newsletter! Check out our calendar of men’s basketball game watching events around the Boston area! And all the photos that we’ve posted on-line from past events! Mark your calendars for the 2007 New Student Send-Off! Plus many more events are still being planned! We need your input to help us organize them to your satisfaction! |

The next Board Meeting will be on
When: Tuesday, April 3rd
6:30pm – 8:00pm
Where: McFadden’s, located at 148 State Street (at India Street near Faneuil Hall).
Anyone is welcome to attend and share their thoughts and ideas on the club and for future events. We will be there until 8pm so please feel free to show up whenever you can! Hope to see you there! |

National Orange Day 3/24/07 |

Saturday, March 24th, 2007 is National Orange Day, the official date Syracuse University was founded...
Now in its 14th year, it is an annual celebration that allows SU students, staff and alumni to join together to show their orange spirit and pride by volunteering in a variety of community service events.
The GBSUAC will be collecting canned good donations and volunteering at the Greater Boston Food Bank from 12:30pm - 4:00pm to separate, sort, inspect and package food. We will also have a social pizza party (courtesy of Bertucci's) beforehand. The Food Bank is located at 99 Atkinson Street, Boston, and is possible via public transportation.

Happy New Year SU Alumni! We have some great events in the works for 2007, so here's a taste...
** Check your emails for our Annual GBSUAC Newsletter to be distributed at the end of January! The newsletter will contain a full list of upcoming events, club news, ideas and SU in the news. If you have something that you would like to share with other alumni (e.g., your recent engagement, baby, marriage, promotion, etc.), or if you have a listing that you would like to post (e.g., you are looking for a new job, apartment, roommate, etc), send an email to us by Friday, January 26th and we will include it in the 2007 Newsletter!
** Check out our newest polls on the right hand side of the website!
** The next Board Meeting will take place on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 6pm at McFadden's (148 State Street near Faneuil Hall). All are welcome to attend and share their ideas and thoughts for the 2007 year! The UConn basketball game watching event will follow at 7pm.
** The University has informed us that we will be receiving a small block of tickets to the Saturday, February 24th, 2007 men's basketball game at Providence. We have not received confirmation as to the number of tickets that we will be getting. Due to the high demand for tickets, we will be having a raffle for the opportunity to purchase these tickets. Send an email to us by Monday! , February 12th at noon with your name, home address, email address and # of tickets you would like to purchase. There will be a 4 ticket limit per person and you must be an active paid member of the GBSUAC to be eligible. The winners will be picked in a random drawing on Feb 12th and will be notified via email, where they will be able to purchase the tickets via paypal. Unfortunately, we were not allocated any tickets for the UConn game.

Some events in progress are...a Spring Career Night, a Fall golf outing, After-Work Happy Hour, a Kickball and/or Softball team, Sunday Brunch, Community Service Events.....More details to be announced as they become available....

There are eight nationally televised SU Big East men's basketball games this season....So come out and cheer on our top-rated Orange with your fellow SU alumni at local bars around the Boston area! We have reserved space at each place listed below. Many thanks to all of you who entered our poll on the website regarding your favorite spots to watch the games. We planned the events based upon the results.... We even have the UConn, Providence and Georgetown area alumni clubs joining us for some friendly competition! Let's go Orange!! |
